Shipping Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Shipping Manager to oversee daily operations at a hardware warehouse.

This position is responsible for hardware order fulfillment, FedEx and UPS shipments, LTL freight, inventory control, warehouse organization, and receiving and unloading containers. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, safety-focused, and comfortable leading a small warehouse team of 2.

 

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily hardware order picking, packing, and shipping.

• Create and process FedEx and UPS shipping labels.
• Coordinate FedEx, UPS, and LTL freight pickups.
• Prepare bills of lading and freight documentation.
• Ensure pallets and packages are properly wrapped, labeled, and ready for shipment.
• Track shipments and help resolve delays, damage, or delivery issues.
• Receive and unload containers and inbound freight.
• Verify carton counts, packing lists, and received inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct cycle counts.
• Organize warehouse locations for efficient picking and storage.
• Coordinate inventory transfers between the California and Chicago warehouses.
• Supervise warehouse employees and assign daily priorities.
• Investigate shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
• Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

Qualifications

• Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or inventory experience.

• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Experience using FedEx and UPS shipping systems.
• Experience with LTL freight, pallet preparation, and bills of lading.
• Experience receiving and unloading containers.
• Forklift operating experience preferred; certification is not required.
• Basic computer skills, including Excel, Google Sheets, and email.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely lift and move warehouse materials.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Experience with display hardware, commercial equipment, freight brokers, or multi-location inventory is a plus.
