Our client in the Des Moines area is looking for a Buckhoist Operator!

Are you looking for a hands-on construction opportunity with no prior experience required? We are seeking a dependable Buckhoist Operator to support a high-rise construction project by safely transporting workers, tools, and materials between floors using a temporary construction elevator system.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a temporary exterior construction elevator (buckhoist) to transport workers, tools, and materials between building floors.
• Safely operate hoist controls to raise and lower the elevator as needed throughout the workday.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and pre-shift safety checks.
• Monitor weight limits and ensure safe operation of the hoist.
• Maintain clear communication with site supervisors, ground crews, and construction trades.
• Follow all job-site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Assist with keeping the work area safe and organized.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required — training provided!
• Must be comfortable working in a confined, enclosed space for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and ability to follow directions.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members on an active construction site.

Schedule & Pay

• Pay: $16.00-$20.00/hour, based on experience
• Full-time hours
• Construction site environment
