Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift (Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexibility required based on production needs)

 

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Supervisor to join a leading automotive manufacturing organization in the McAllen, TX area. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing supplier quality activities, managing quality engineering teams, and ensuring suppliers consistently meet company and automotive industry quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and Quality Assurance (QA) team
• Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality programs that meet company and customer requirements
• Manage supplier performance through audits, evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead supplier qualification, corrective action, and supplier development activities
• Review and approve PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation
• Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities throughout product development
• Conduct supplier process and quality system audits to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards
• Investigate supplier quality concerns using structured root cause analysis methodologies
• Coordinate containment activities and corrective/preventive actions for supplier and customer quality issues
• Monitor supplier quality metrics and prepare reports for management
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and production teams to resolve quality concerns
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and global manufacturing teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve supplier performance
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and automotive quality standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred
• Previous leadership experience managing Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) or Quality Assurance teams required
• Strong experience within the automotive manufacturing industry
• Extensive knowledge of IATF 16949 (formerly TS16949) quality management systems
• Hands-on experience with PPAP, APQP, supplier audits, and supplier development
• Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities using quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, and Control Plans
• Strong understanding of automotive quality systems and customer requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills
• Japanese language proficiency is highly preferred due to regular communication with headquarters and global teams

Travel Requirements

• Frequent travel to supplier facilities throughout Mexico and the United States
• Security, transportation and travel arrangements will be provided by the company
