Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Steel Material Handler / Saw Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Virginia Beach. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with forklift and warehouse experience who is looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing.

In this role, you'll play a key part in the production process by moving steel materials, operating a saw machine, and preparing materials for fabrication. This is more than a typical warehouse position—you'll be an important part of keeping production running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to transport steel materials throughout the facility
• Pull steel from inventory and deliver materials to production
• Operate a saw machine to cut steel to required specifications (training provided)
• Stage finished materials for fabrication and production teams
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or material concerns
• Perform basic computer data entry for inventory transactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience required
• Warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to safely work around machinery and heavy materials
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes
• Previous steel, manufacturing, fabrication, or saw operation experience is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequently bend, lift, reach, and move materials
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely
• Work in both indoor manufacturing areas and outdoor material storage areas
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 7AM - 3PM
• Overtime and occasional Saturdays may be available based on production needs

Dress Code

• Steel-toe boots are required
• Long pants are required
• Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing environment
• Additional PPE will be provided as needed
