About the Position

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Tax Preparer with experience preparing S Corporation tax returns to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, analyzing financial information, and ensuring accurate and timely tax filings.

The successful candidate will have experience preparing business and individual tax returns, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive during tax season while maintaining excellent customer service.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for:
• S Corporations (Form 1120-S)
• Individuals (Form 1040)
• Partnerships and LLCs
• Prepare and review Schedule K-1s and shareholder information.
• Calculate shareholder basis and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.
• Review financial statements, bookkeeping records, and supporting documentation.
• Identify potential tax savings opportunities for clients.
• Communicate with clients regarding tax documents, filing requirements, and deadlines.
• Assist with IRS and state tax notice responses.
• Maintain organized and accurate client files and workpapers.
• Stay current on federal and state tax law updates.

 

 

Required

• Minimum of 2 years of tax preparation experience.
• Experience preparing S Corporation tax returns (Form 1120-S).
• Working knowledge of individual tax returns (Form 1040).
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

 

Preferred

• Experience with shareholder basis calculations and Schedule K-1 reporting.
• Experience with Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, CCH Axcess, or similar tax software.
• CPA, EA, or accounting background is a plus.
