The CDL-B Refrigerated Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of temperature-sensitive products using a 21-foot refrigerated box truck. This position ensures products are delivered in compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while maintaining product quality and vehicle safety.
Safely operate a CDL-B licensed 21-foot refrigerated box truck to transport temperature-controlled products.
Complete scheduled local and regional deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
Load, transport, and unload products while maintaining product integrity and proper temperature requirements.
Verify delivery orders, shipping documents, and customer receipts for accuracy.
Obtain required delivery confirmations and maintain accurate delivery records.
Follow designated routes while adapting to traffic, weather, and customer scheduling requirements.
Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
Monitor refrigeration unit operation and document temperature readings as required.
Report vehicle maintenance needs, mechanical issues, or safety concerns promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck cab and cargo area.
Ensure cargo is properly secured to prevent damage during transport.
Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT and FMCSA requirements.
Maintain a valid CDL-B driver's license, current medical certification, and safe driving record.
Adhere to company safety policies, defensive driving practices, and accident reporting procedures.
Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and required transportation documentation.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures when transporting refrigerated products.
Provide courteous and professional service during all customer interactions.
Communicate delivery updates, delays, or issues with dispatch and customers as appropriate.
Resolve routine delivery concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Represent the company positively while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Verify shipment quantities before departure and upon delivery.
Report damaged, missing, or returned products according to company procedures.
Complete delivery paperwork, logs, and electronic documentation accurately and on time.
Assist with inventory verification and warehouse support as needed.
Assist with loading and unloading products when required.
Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
Work collaboratively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B) with a clean driving record.
Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Ability to operate a 21-foot refrigerated box truck safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and safe driving practices.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Previous experience operating refrigerated commercial vehicles.
Experience delivering food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, or other temperature-sensitive products.
Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus.
Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, and handheld delivery systems.
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing up to 50 pounds.
Enter and exit the vehicle multiple times throughout the workday.
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as necessary to perform deliveries.
Work in varying weather conditions and temperature-controlled environments.
Primarily operates a refrigerated commercial vehicle with frequent customer site visits.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, refrigerated cargo environments, warehouse settings, and loading docks.
Requires strict adherence to safety, sanitation, and transportation regulations.
