HVAC Installer Helper

Position Summary: The HVAC Installer Helper assists HVAC technicians and installers with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and ductwork systems in residential and commercial settings. This position requires hands-on experience with duct installation, fabrication, sealing, and modification while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist lead HVAC installers with the installation of heating and cooling systems.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal and flexible ductwork.
• Support duct fabrication, hanging, sealing, insulating, and testing procedures.
• Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with system startup and testing.
• Help remove and dispose of old HVAC equipment and duct systems.
• Ensure ductwork is properly sealed and meets airflow and efficiency standards.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and vehicles.
• Follow company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and building codes.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous HVAC helper or construction experience preferred.
• Experience installing, repairing, or modifying HVAC ductwork.
• Ability to read tape measurements and follow installation drawings.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC components, tools, and materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
