Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM

Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician for a busy and respected optometry office in Wichita Falls, TX. This position is ideal for someone with excellent customer service skills who is interested in building a career in patient care and eye health. The successful candidate will assist the doctor with patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, and administrative support while helping create a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient workups, including:
  • Non-Contact Tonometry (NCT)
  • Autorefraction
  • Optomap Imaging
  • Visual Acuity Testing
  • Patient and Medical History Documentation
  • Dilation Preparation
• Conduct specialized diagnostic testing, including:
  • Humphrey Visual Field (VF)
  • Pachymetry
  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Visual Evoked Potential (VEP)
  • Corneal Topography
  • Ishihara Color Testing
  • Stereo Acuity Testing
• Educate patients on contact lens use, care, and maintenance
• Inspect and check in eyeglasses and optical products
• Clean and maintain diagnostic equipment and exam rooms
• Assist patients throughout their visit and provide exceptional customer service
• Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to learn new procedures and medical terminology quickly
• Basic computer proficiency required
• Previous optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office experience is preferred but not required
• Dependable attendance and a patient-focused approach
