We're looking for a highly skilled Burn Table Operator / Plate Roll Operator who can step into the shop and immediately contribute. This is not an entry-level position—we need an experienced professional with proven hands-on expertise operating CNC burn tables, plate rolls, pipe rolls, and angle rolls in a heavy fabrication environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced fabrication shop and is willing to support other shop operations as needed to help the team succeed.
What You'll Do
CNC Burn Table Operations (Required)
- Independently operate CNC burn tables from startup through production.
- Load existing programs, verify nesting layouts, and begin cutting with minimal supervision.
- Set torch heights, inspect consumables, and verify proper cutting parameters.
- Load and position material using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Verify completed parts against fabrication drawings and nesting layouts.
- Mark, etch, identify, and organize cut parts for downstream fabrication.
- Monitor cut quality and troubleshoot common operational issues.
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with routine equipment maintenance.
Plate, Pipe & Angle Rolling Operations
Plate Rolling
Operate 4-roll plate rolling machines capable of rolling thin plate through heavy plate up to 1-1/2" thick x 10' wide, including:
- Storage tank shell plate
- Vessel cans
- Manway necks
- Heavy fabrication components
- Custom rolled assemblies
Pipe Rolling
Operate 3-roll pipe rollers to form pipe ranging from approximately:
- 1" diameter up to 4' diameter
Angle Rolling
Operate 3-roll angle rollers to produce:
- Leg-in and leg-out configurations
- Angles ranging from 1" x 1" through 5" x 5"
Additional Equipment Experience
Qualified candidates should be comfortable operating:
- Forklifts
- Overhead cranes
- Material handling equipment
Press brake experience is a strong plus.
Fabrication Support
While the primary focus of this role is burning and rolling operations, the ideal candidate is willing to assist with other fabrication tasks as needed.
Preferred, but not required:
- Basic fitting experience
- Tack welding ability
- General fabrication support
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of plate cutting and rolling experience preferred.
- Proven experience operating CNC burn tables independently.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and work from prints.
- Experience working with carbon steel and/or stainless steel.
- Ability to work safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented mindset.
