The Stainless Steel Pipe Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding stainless steel piping systems used in commercial and industrial applications. This position requires the ability to prepare materials, perform high-quality welds, and work safely in both shop and field environments. The ideal candidate has experience with GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel pipe and is committed to producing quality workmanship while maintaining project schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel pipe and related components.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install process and utility piping systems.
• Measure, cut, bevel, fit, and prepare pipe for welding.
• Ensure weld quality meets project specifications and applicable codes.
• Assist with pipe fitting, alignment, layout, and installation activities.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Work independently or as part of a field installation crew.
• Travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in GTAW (TIG) welding of stainless steel pipe.
• Ability to pass a 6G pipe welding test.
• Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or process piping environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work overtime and travel when project demands require.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.

Work Environment

This position involves work in fabrication shops, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and commercial construction sites. Work may require travel, overtime, weekend work, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
