Position Summary

The Senior Bookkeeper & Accounting Coordinator oversees daily accounting operations, maintains accurate financial records, prepares financial reports, supports budgeting, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and investment accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budget reports, and cash flow information.
  • Assist with budget preparation, financial analysis, and annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate financial information with department managers.
  • Maintain confidential financial and personnel records.
  • Assist with Human Resources, licensing, certifications, and records management.
  • Recommend process improvements and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Experience with financial statements, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
