Director of Human Resources

 

Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership for all human resource functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll oversight, performance management, compliance, training, and organizational development. This role partners with leadership to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and supporting the organization's mission and values.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all Human Resources operations, policies, and staff.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, leave programs, COBRA, ACA compliance, and payroll oversight.
  • Advise leadership on employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and employment law compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, employment regulations, and HR reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and organizational procedures.
  • Coordinate employee training, safety programs, orientation, and leadership development.
  • Oversee HR records, reporting, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, compensation strategy, and organizational initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compensation, benefits administration, payroll, and HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employee relations, investigations, compliance, and organizational development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.

Working Environment

Primarily office-based with extended computer use. Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds), walking, standing, and travel may be required. Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed to support organizational operations.

 

Salary/Benefits

$85,777 - $90,499
