Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Fabrication Manager for a client in South Fort Worth, TX. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong experience in custom metal fabrication, production scheduling, CNC fabrication equipment, welding processes, and shop floor leadership.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing fabrication teams, overseeing production workflow, reading engineering drawings, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, on time, and within budget.

 

Fabrication Manager Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily operations in a custom metal fabrication shop
• Manage production schedules to meet customer deadlines and maximize shop efficiency
• Supervise laser operators, CNC press brake operators, CNC turret punch operators, welders, fabricators, and assembly personnel
• Maintain workflow between laser cutting, forming, machining, welding, and final assembly departments
• Ensure all work is completed according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, weld symbols, and quality standards
• Monitor production performance and adjust schedules based on changing priorities and customer needs
• Train, mentor, coach, and evaluate shop employees while promoting teamwork and accountability
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and help minimize downtime
• Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and project management teams to resolve production issues
• Monitor material usage, labor efficiency, production costs, and overall shop productivity
• Identify process improvements to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase production output
• Assist on the shop floor as needed to troubleshoot issues and support the fabrication team

Fabrication Manager Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience in a metal fabrication environment
• Strong working knowledge of CNC fiber laser cutters, CNC press brakes, CNC turret punch presses, MIG welding, TIG welding, and laser welding
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and weld symbols
• Experience managing production schedules, shop workflow, and changing priorities
• Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances, tooling, welding processes, and metal manufacturing procedures
• Ability to lead, train, and hold employees accountable in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Experience with ERP/MRP software and Microsoft Office is preferred
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is a plus
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting fabrication equipment is a plus
