Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Compensation: $22 – $25 per hour, based on experience

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join a busy medical practice in the East Texas area. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and knowledgeable in the full billing cycle — from claim submission through payment posting and follow-up. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in clean claims and efficient AR management.

Responsibilities:

Billing & Claims:

• Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (commercial and government payers)
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and post payments to patient accounts
• Identify, work, and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments in a timely manner
• Follow up on outstanding claims and manage accounts receivable

Patient & Insurance Communication:

• Respond to patient billing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
• Communicate with insurance companies to verify benefits, check claim status, and appeal denials
• Coordinate with clinical staff to obtain documentation needed for claims or prior authorizations

Administrative & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records
• Ensure billing practices are compliant with payer guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and coding standards
• Assist with billing audits and reporting as needed

Requirements:

• 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred
• Experience with CareTracker practice management software strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Familiarity with EOBs, denial management, and insurance follow-up processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of claims accurately
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
