HVAC Service Technician – Level 2 Journeyman

Pay: $38.00–$46.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch). Overtime, evenings, weekends, and participation in a rotating on-call schedule are required as business needs dictate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently. During slower service periods, you'll also assist with residential HVAC installations and support the development of junior technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system startups, testing, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Educate customers on repair, replacement, maintenance, and indoor air quality options.
  • Complete accurate service documentation, estimates, and invoices using mobile field software.
  • Assist with residential retrofit and new construction HVAC installations as needed.
  • Install and commission HVAC equipment, refrigeration piping, controls, and related components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and follow all safety standards.
  • Participate in an alternating on-call rotation and mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience.
  • Experience independently diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems.
  • Residential HVAC installation experience (retrofit and/or new construction).
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • EPA Type II or Universal EPA Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration, airflow, electrical systems, gas heating, and heat pumps.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • Experience using mobile technology for service documentation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work safely in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NATE Certification
  • Experience with ServiceTitan
  • Light commercial HVAC experience
  • Ductless, zoning, IAQ, and advanced controls experience
  • Brazing Certification
  • Oregon Limited Electrical License (LEB)
  • Experience with hydronic, radiant, boiler, or water-source systems
