The Safety Engineer supports the definition, design, implementation, and integration of systems and subsystems to ensure compliance with
National Range safety standards and other recognized regulatory requirements, contributing to hazard analysis, design reviews, and safety
documentation throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct system and subsystem safety evaluations by participating in requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews,
critical design reviews, and integration and acceptance activities (30%).

Perform and document hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety requirements analyses to ensure compliance with
applicable standards (25%).
•
Develop, prepare, and maintain safety documentation including ARARs, compliance reports, and required technical records
(20%).
•
Create and present safety plans, briefings, and assurance materials to internal teams, leadership, and external safety
authorities (15%).
•
Serve as a safety engineering interface to customers, coordinating technical discussions, clarifying requirements, and
supporting resolution of safety-related issues (10%).
•
Representative Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 4–6+ years of experience in safety engineering, systems engineering, or compliance-focused technical roles.
• Working knowledge of system safety standards, range safety requirements, and hazard/risk analysis methodologies.
• Experience supporting engineering reviews, safety documentation, and system integration activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex engineering data.
• Effective communication skills for presenting safety information and interfacing with customers.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities within engineering development environments.
