We are partnering with a well-established equipment and distribution company in Sarasota that is seeking an experienced Inventory Associate to join their operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, processing returns and vendor claims, and supporting warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $17.00–$18.00/hour

Position Summary

The Inventory Associate is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy through the timely processing of returns, vendor claims, stock transfers, and inventory audits. This role works closely with multiple departments to maintain organized inventory systems, resolve discrepancies, and support overall warehouse efficiency. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in inventory management and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer returns, vendor claims, and stock transfers accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for inventory transactions
  • Inspect returned items and verify inventory condition for restocking or disposition
  • Perform inventory counts, audits, and part number verifications as needed
  • Assign locations and put away returned inventory promptly
  • Maintain organized inventory storage areas and return merchandise locations
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory movement and replenishment
  • Support weekly stock receipts and inventory receiving activities
  • Maintain warehouse supplies including boxes, labels, and packaging materials
  • Assist with picking, packing, and shipping operations as needed
  • Collaborate with customer service, warehouse, and service teams to resolve inventory issues

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience preferred
  • Previous inventory management experience required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Basic computer proficiency required
  • Forklift certification or experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the workday
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform warehouse duties for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
