Salary: $17.20 / Hour

Express is looking for a Yarn Winding responsible for set-up, operation and adjustment of winding and twisting equipment; including threading machines, monitoring for broken threads, performing quality checks, and maintaining production efficiency. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to stand for periods of time

Key Responsibilities:

•          Process and prepare orders based on incoming requests.
•          Pull and supply yarn for production orders.
•          Pull serging yarn and deliver to the winding station.
•          Return yarn to proper storage locations after order completion and serging requests.
•          Complete and log all required paperwork in software systems.
•          Receive incoming materials by verifying bills of lading against shipments.
•          Inspect deliveries for damage and route approved materials to correct departments.
•          Restock inventory, including updating yarn and lot numbers.
•          Create yarn poms and pom sets as needed.
•          Prepare carpets for shipment, including palletizing when required.
•          Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including warehouse and exterior pallet areas.
•          Learn safe forklift operation and obtain company certification as required.
•          Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas using 5S principles.
•          Keep production areas free of debris, waste, and safety hazards at all times.
•          Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices.
•          Operate winding machines as needed.
•          All duties as assigned.
•          Work overtime or flexible hours as needed to meet business demands

Job Requirements:

•          High school diploma or GED preferred.
•          Experience in carpet, flooring, textile, warehouse, manufacturing, shipping, or clerical work a plus.
•          Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
•          Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, order processing, and shipping systems.
•          Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
•          Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills across multiple departments

Physical requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with wool based products.
• Must be able to see color and pass the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test.
• Ability to use cutting tools and packaging equipment safely

Schedule: Hours are 7am to 3:30pm / During the Summer 

Pay: $17.20 / Hour
