Human Resources (HR) Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional, organized, and people-focused Human Resources Associate to join our team. The HR Associate will support a variety of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, recordkeeping, compliance, and general HR support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, maintains confidentiality, and is committed to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Prepare employment-related documents and maintain personnel files.
  • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Help promote a positive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters as directed.

Benefits & Administration

  • Assist with benefits enrollment, employee changes, and benefits-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Process employment status changes, terminations, and leave requests.
  • Assist with payroll coordination and timekeeping administration when required.

Compliance & HR Support

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Support HR audits and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate HR reports and maintain confidential personnel information.
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of human resources, administrative, office support, or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and labor regulations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, or applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Customer service-oriented approach to employee support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) is a plus.
