Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Commercial Maintenance Technician to join a high-end commercial property management team in Plano. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, completing work orders, and maintaining common areas to provide an exceptional experience for tenants and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of building maintenance issues. This position works alongside a Senior Maintenance Technician and requires professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial building systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues, including assessing problems beyond routine filter changes.
• Complete light plumbing repairs such as toilets, faucets, and fixtures.
• Perform basic electrical repairs including changing ballasts, light fixtures, switches, and bulbs.
• Complete general maintenance tasks including paint touch-ups, minor repairs, and upkeep of common areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Utilize work order management systems to document completed work.
• Operate company-issued iPads, laptops, and other technology to manage maintenance requests.
• Safely operate company vehicles and golf carts while traveling throughout the property.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service while interacting with tenants, vendors, and clients.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial or property maintenance experience required.
• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Comfortable using tablets, laptops, and maintenance software/work order systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Property management maintenance experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with commercial office buildings.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to prioritize multiple work orders in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail.

Requirements

• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check prior to starting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing ladders, walking, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
