Accounting Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Administrator to support the daily financial operations of a growing organization. This position is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll support, assisting with month-end procedures, and providing administrative support to the accounting department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, and able to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, and payment preparation.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, payment posting, and collections as needed.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll-related records.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
  • Enter and maintain accounting data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for accounting records.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal team members regarding billing and payment inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting and management teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or office administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, mining, or industrial environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of payroll and sales tax reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with a team.
