Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring a Maintenance Turn Technician for a respected property management company serving the Blacksburg, VA area. Job Summary
The Maintenance Turn Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering move-in ready apartments on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vacant apartments for new tenant move-ins ("unit turns")
- Complete general maintenance and repair work, including:
- Drywall repair and patching
- Interior painting and touch-ups
- Basic plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains)
- Basic electrical repairs (switches, outlets, light fixtures)
- Install and repair fixtures, hardware, and appliances as needed
- Replace flooring, blinds, and other unit finishes when necessary
- Remove trash and debris from vacant units
- Complete work orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Communicate with supervisors regarding project status and material needs
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance, property maintenance, or general maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Valid driver's license preferred
