Job Title: Material Handler
City and State: Crystal Lake, IL
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour (2nd shift has a 15% shift differential)
Schedule/Shift: 3:30pm-2:00am
Employment Type: Direct Hire
 
Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, verifying, storing, and distributing materials to support production operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and safe transportation of materials, including local vendor deliveries using a company vehicle.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing lists for accuracy in count and part numbers.
  • Label, store, and distribute materials to appropriate departments and inventory locations.
  • Maintain accurate records in the computer system, including receipts, inventory adjustments, and cycle counts.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and assist with picking, kitting, loading, and unloading materials.
  • Transport materials/products to and from local vendors while following all safety and company policies.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred with 1–3 years of material handling experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) and familiarity with inventory or MRP systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with basic math skills and ability to read scales and rulers.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while maintaining strong communication and safety standards.
