Position Overview

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the mechanical assembly of interior products, including sheet metal fabrication and mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings while producing high-quality work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related mechanical assembly experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of personal hand tools necessary to perform essential job duties
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with a high level of initiative
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Basic knowledge of the operation and maintenance of common shop tools

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Measure parts to verify specified tolerances
• Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts
• Safely and proficiently operate a variety of hand tools
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, written instructions, and dimensions
• Follow established redline procedures for drawing revisions and corrections
• Assemble components using bolts, screws, and rivets
• Disassemble and replace parts as needed
• Clean and lubricate parts and completed assemblies
• Mark identifying information on parts and assemblies
• Demonstrate proper riveting techniques
• Modify parts according to engineering drawings, including cutting, drilling, and radiusing
• Identify required dash numbers within drawing structures
• Perform soldering and crimping operations
• Test completed assemblies to ensure proper functionality and quality
• Share knowledge, skills, and best practices with team members to support continuous improvement
