Bilingual Electrical Test Tech

A privately held wire and cable manufacturing company is looking for detail-oriented Electrical Test Technician to help ensure their products meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and performance. Responsibilities: 

• Locate reels needing to be tested, in accordance with the priority established by the Supervisor
• Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe work environment.  Follow all safety procedures including moving the reels correctly, and ensuring that all procedures are followed when applying voltage to the cable or performing any required test.
• Determine the correct voltage or applicable test to be applied for the respective cable
• Complete all applicable paperwork to meet documentation requirements
• Prepare ends of cable for next process
• If cable fails any test, the failure must be addressed and resolved before moving to the next operation
• Work with Re-spool personnel to address necessary steps for removing faults.  Retest cable
• For cable going directly to Shipping, ensure reel is prepared per standard operating procedures
• Cable slated for rewind should be flagged to move to the Re-spool area
• Escalate issues outside of his/her authority to a higher level

Schedule and Pay:

• Mon-Fri 7:00am-7:00pm OR 7:00pm-7:00am
• $18.00/hour

Requirements:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish 
• Knowledge of electrical meters and testers such as a Continuity meter, Hipot tester, Fault Finder and Insulation Resistance tester.
• Knowledge of Class I Tests; Thermocouple, Attenuation, Continuity, Insulation Resistance, Specific Gravity
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Steel toed boots
