Cash Applications Clerk

Pay: $22.00–$24.00/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Duration: Temporary assignment (approximately 10–12 months) with potential for future employment based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Post customer payments received by check, credit card, ACH, and wire transfer accurately and timely.
  • Apply payments to the appropriate customer accounts.
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, deductions, and short payments.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts and maintain accurate payment records.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and support the Accounts Receivable team.
  • Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding payment issues when needed.
  • Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or a related office role preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong data entry and 10-key skills with excellent accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or an ERP system is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
