North Austin Manufacturing Company looking to add a Buyer to their Buyer / Planning Team!

Responsibilities:

•         Receives and consolidates requests for supplies from various internal parties.
•         Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requisitions.
•         Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications
•         Enters purchase order in computer system and sends copy to supplier and department originating request ensuring appropriate approvals.
•         Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories
•         Computes total cost of items purchased.
•          Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers or mail order firms
•         Assists the technical sales department personnel in the quoting process

Skills Required:

•         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
•         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
•         Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
•         Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
•         Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
•         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•         Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
•         Working knowledge of IFS software.
