North Austin manufacturing company looking for a Cost Accountant to add to their team!

Responsibilities:

•         Operational cost analysis: Collect and analyze operational cost data (materials, labor, overhead, freight/shipping) to improve cost visibility and margin performance.
•         Cost standards: Set, maintain, and roll standard costs for manufactured goods; develop and analyze cost standards and key cost drivers.
•         Variance reporting: Analyze and explain PPV, labor, and overhead variances; recommend actions to reduce cost and waste.
•         Reconciliations: Perform month-end inventory and cost account reconciliations; support cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
•        BOM & routers: Partner with Engineering to maintain BOMs/routers that support accurate product costing.
•         FP&A partnership: Provide margin and job-level profitability insights for management reporting; support forecast and annual planning inputs.
•         CVP & decision support: Perform cost-volume-profit (breakeven) and make-vs-buy analyses to support pricing, capacity, and sourcing decisions.

 Required Skills:

•         Analytical/quantitative: Strong quantitative skills to interpret operational cost data, trends, and drivers.
•         Financial analysis: Ability to build clear analyses and recommendations from incomplete or evolving data.
•         Reporting: Comfortable preparing management reports and presenting findings to cross-functional partners.
•         Systems/tools: Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting tools; advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modeling).
•         Attention to detail: High accuracy with large data sets and reconciliations in a manufacturing environment.
•         Communication: Effective written and verbal communication; active listening and ability to influence.
•         Collaboration: Strong teamwork and partnering skills across FP&A, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications:

•         Experience: 3–4 years of cost accounting in manufacturing; high-precision/semiconductor equipment experience is a plus.
•         Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
•         Technical skills: Advanced Excel and manufacturing ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
•         Knowledge: GAAP, standard costing, and management reporting fundamentals.
