ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

 

1ST SHIFT: 7:00a.m.-3:00p.m. EST

Wage: $18-22.00/hr. + DOE

 

Job Purpose: Installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment as necessary for power module units. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.

 

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Splices, twists and solders wires. 
• Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. 
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connects power cables to equipment such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. 
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
• Repairs faulty equipment or system.

HS Diploma or GED. Prefer Licensed electrician - not required but a plus.  Associates degree from 2-yr college/technical school -OR- 6 months to 1 yr. related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
