Position Summary
Associated Asphalt Partners, a subsidiary of Ergon, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fabrication work on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and terminal equipment. The position works closely with transportation personnel and management to ensure equipment is maintained safely and efficiently. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of repair and maintenance parts. 
  • Order parts and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance activities. 
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed to support equipment repairs.
  • Coordinate with drivers, management, vendors, and third-party service providers to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Complete additional maintenance duties as assigned by the Transport Manager. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven mechanical experience working on diesel-powered equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred. 
  • General computer and PC proficiency. 
  • Technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred. 
  • Stable work history and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform physically demanding tasks. 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
