The Contract HR Generalist provides hands-on support across key human resources functions, including employee relations, leave of absence administration, workers’ compensation and safety, reasonable medical accommodations, and recruiting coordination. This role partners closely with managers and employees to ensure consistent application of HR policies, compliance with employment laws, and a positive and safe work environment.

This is a temporary/contract position supporting critical HR operations and projects.

SHIFT: 1st shift. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. SALARY RANGE: $28-$38/hour DOE
Contract position from August thru March

RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance concerns, policy interpretation, and workplace issues
• Conduct intake and support investigations into employee complaints, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution
• Partner with managers to provide guidance on performance management, corrective actions, and terminations
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and compliant employee documentation
Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration
• Manage all leave programs with our 3rd party leave administration vendor; including FMLA, state leave (e.g., MA PFML), ADA accommodations, and company-sponsored leaves
• Communicate with employees and managers regarding leave status, required documentation, return to work coordination, and expectations
• Coordinate with payroll and benefits to ensure accuracy of leave-related pay and benefits continuation
Workers’ Compensation & Safety
• Manage workers’ compensation claims from intake through resolution, including incident reporting, investigation support, and carrier coordination
• Partner with managers and safety personnel on incident investigations and corrective actions
• Assist in maintaining OSHA logs and support compliance with reporting requirements
• Assist with safety initiatives, training coordination, and return-to-work programs
Recruitment Support (Administrative)
• Provide administrative support for the recruiting process, including scheduling interviews and coordinating calendars with hiring managers and candidates
• Prepare interview materials and support a smooth and professional candidate experience
• Manage candidate communications, including interview confirmations, follow-ups, and status updates
• Support onboarding by preparing and processing new hire paperwork and ensuring completion of required documentation
• Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks, screenings, and system setup
• Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding records within HR systems
General HR Support
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and support reporting needs
• Assist with HR audits, compliance activities, and policy implementation
• Support HR projects and system initiatives (e.g., HRIS/Workday-related activities)
• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 3–7+ years of HR generalist experience in a fast-paced environment (manufacturing experience strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with:
• Employee relations and investigations
• Leave of absence administration (FMLA, state leave programs)
• Workers’ compensation and safety processes
• Administrative recruiting support and onboarding coordination
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of professionalism
• HRIS experience required (Workday preferred)
