Location: Wallingford and Meriden, CT Area
Schedule:
- 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6 am - 3:30 pm
- 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 3:30 pm - 1 am
Pay rate: $20-35/hr
What You'll Do
As a CNC Machinist & Operator, you'll play a key role in producing precision-machined components that meet the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Load tools, fixtures, and materials while ensuring proper machine setup.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Make machine offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and work with the team to resolve production challenges.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe, team-oriented workplace.
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating and setting up CNC machining equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T is preferred.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers.
- Knowledge of G-code and basic program editing.
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or Siemens controls.
- Tooling, fixture setup, and preventive maintenance experience.
- Manufacturing, machining, or technical school certification is a plus.
