Bin Collection Laborer

Located in Bloomington, IN

Salary: $18.00 / hr

This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in providing excellent service, and wants the opportunity to earn a permanent position with a great employer.

Job Summary

• Roll residential rubbish bins from the curb to the collection truck
• Hook bins to the truck's lifting mechanism and operate the lever to empty contents
• Collect rubbish along assigned residential routes
• Perform heavy lifting and continuous physical labor throughout the workday
• Power wash rubbish bins and collection equipment as needed
• Clean and maintain trucks, tools, and equipment
• Provide courteous customer service when interacting with residents
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Assist with other duties as assigned

Experience Required

• Previous experience in general labor, sanitation, or other physically demanding work is preferred
• Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions is a plus
• Customer service experience is beneficial but not required
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are essential

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for the duration of the shift
• Able to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy rubbish bins
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Strong attention to safety practices
• Dependable, punctual, and motivated
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers when needed

Location: Bloomington, IN

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Pay: $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM
