We're looking for a Production Assembly Technician to join our team assembling high-quality engine packages. Whether you have previous assembly experience or you're mechanically inclined and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. Location: Essex, CT

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm

Pay rate: $23/hr

What You'll Do

As a Production Assembly Technician, you'll play a key role in building engine packages by assembling components and subassemblies while maintaining the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints, manuals, and specifications to complete builds accurately.
  • Assemble, align, and install components, including piping, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components.
  • Set and verify part clearances using precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Lay out, drill, ream, tap, and cut parts as required for assembly.
  • Inspect, test, and measure completed products to ensure they meet customer and engineering specifications.
  • Gather materials and equipment needed for each engine package build.
  • Manage inventory by labeling, locating, picking, and delivering parts while tracking inventory levels.
  • Perform repairs, rework, or replacement of damaged parts and assemblies when necessary.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, hammers, mallets, chisels, and measuring equipment.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain organized workstations.
  • Identify product defects, complete quality documentation, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment while following company procedures and safety standards.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Cross-train throughout the shop to support multiple product lines and production areas.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, bend, stoop, and twist throughout a nine-hour shift.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, including the ability to use both hands effectively.
  • Corrected visual acuity sufficient to inspect work, read blueprints and job orders, and use computer screens.
