Job Summary: Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Lumber Grader for a well-established lumber company in Whatcom County. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to be part of a busy sawmill team. As a Lumber Grader, you'll inspect and sort dimensional lumber based on quality and grade standards. You'll identify defects such as knots, splits, wane, and warp, then sort lumber by grade, size, and customer specifications. You'll work closely with the production team to help maintain quality standards and keep production running efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a sawmill, lumber yard, or manufacturing environment. They have a good eye for detail, can recognize common wood defects, and take pride in producing quality work. A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Pay: $25.49/HR
Shift: Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Everson, WA

What you get to do:
-Grade lumber in a sawmill and planer mill setting
-Inspect and grade dimensional lumber according to quality and company standards
-Identify defects such as knots, splits, wane, warp, and other imperfections
-Sort and stack lumber
-Maintain quality control throughout the production process to ensure consistency
-Be able to flip boards by hand and accurately grade them to ensure our quality standards are being met
-Communicate effectively with the supervisor on how the product is turning out
-Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
-Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
-Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting is advantageous but not mandatory-Other duties and projects as assigned
