Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and machining processes will be essential to ensuring efficient and accurate production.
Key Responsibilities:
-Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines including lathes and milling machines using Fanuc or similar control systems
-Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs
-Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
-Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment to verify part dimensions
-Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and ensure proper tooling setup and performance
-Install fixtures and tooling; preset tools according to production requirements
-Support production engineering in new project design and process development
-Maintain accurate documentation of setups, production runs, and quality checks
-Ensure product quality through adherence to specifications and quality system requirements
-Communicate with quality and engineering teams during setup and launch phases
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S and safety protocols
-Identify safety concerns and recommend improvements
Qualifications:
-Proven experience operating CNC machinery, including milling machines and lathes
-Experience with Fanuc or similar CNC control systems
-Strong knowledge of machining aluminum
-Excellent blueprint reading skills and solid understanding of GD&T principles
-Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling, machining processes, welding, and assembly techniques
-Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM)
-Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
-Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
-Forklift certification is a plus
-Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
