Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
$15.00–$18.00 per hour (DOE)

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our team at our Edinburg branch. The ideal candidate will have an accounting background, with experience in a financial institution preferred. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy while handling financial records and transactions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting and bookkeeping functions.
• Process and reconcile financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Assist with account reconciliations and balancing.
• Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as needed.
• Verify the accuracy of financial information and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Provide administrative support to the accounting department.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.

Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience required.
• Experience working in a bank, credit union, or other financial institution is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with accounting or banking software is a plus.
