Express Employment is seeking janitorial Housekeepers for a great company in Shelby County. This position is Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30-4pm

 

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and comfort in a facility or property. While janitors often focus on public or shared spaces, housekeepers typically handle private or guest areas such as hotel rooms, rental units, or homes. Both roles require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting floors, windows, mirrors, walls, and frequently used surfaces 

• Restroom and Area Maintenance: Sanitizing bathrooms, restrooms, and common areas; emptying trash and recycling bins 

• Light Maintenance: Performing minor repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures) and keeping cleaning equipment in good condition

• Restocking Supplies: Refilling toilet paper, hand soap, and other essential items 

• Deep Cleaning: Conducting monthly or quarterly deep cleans to remove stains and large messes 

• Inventory and Reporting: Monitoring cleaning supply inventory, logging lost/found items, and reporting damages

• Guest/Client Interaction: Responding professionally to guest requests, spills, or issues; maintaining a positive attitude

Skills and Qualifications

• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment or supplies 

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and operation of cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers) 

• Attention to Detail: Ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation 

• Time Management: Completing tasks within set timeframes

• Communication Skills: Interacting professionally with clients, coworkers, and management 

• Basic Literacy: Ability to read instructions and labels on cleaning products
