Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented Repair Technician for a growing client in Johnston, IA. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing returned electronic equipment while maintaining quality standards and accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot returned electronic equipment.
• Identify faulty components and determine repair solutions.
• Perform repairs using hand tools, soldering equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Document repair findings and update repair records using computer systems.
• Communicate repair estimates and equipment status with internal office staff.
• Ensure all repairs meet company quality and safety standards.
• Assist with warehouse and inventory functions as needed.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of electronics repair, technical service, or related experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using hand tools, multimeters, and basic testing equipment.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Soldering and desoldering experience (through-hole and/or surface mount preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or repair environment is preferred.
• IPC or other technical certifications are a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to safely operate soldering equipment, power tools, and diagnostic devices.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse/shop environment with moderate noise levels.
