A leading supplier of assemblies, rigging and safety supplies to the aircraft, aerospace, entertainment, auto, maritime, theme park and even the fishing industries is seeking a Wire Rope Splicer to join their team in Burbank.

Summary: The Wire Rope Splicer is responsible for fabricating, repairing, inspecting, and testing wire rope assemblies (slings) used in lifting and rigging applications. This position requires precision craftsmanship to splice wire rope, install fittings, and assemble products according to engineering specifications and industry safety standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality, safe lifting equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, repair, and inspect wire rope assemblies and lifting slings.
  • Perform hand-splicing techniques to create eyes, join wire rope sections, and complete custom assemblies.
  • Operate hydraulic swagers and other specialized equipment to install fittings and terminals.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare wire rope to required lengths and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to verify product quality and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with other production or shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in wire rope splicing, rigging, manufacturing, or a related mechanical trade preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate hydraulic swagers, cutting equipment, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read measuring devices, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
