Sales Representative

Overview

Our client is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Sales Representative to join their growing team. In this role, you will manage the full sales cycle by developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, preparing competitive bids, tracking projects, and providing exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate has experience in business-to-business sales, enjoys building long-term partnerships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for sales, construction products, and helping customers find the right solutions, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities while growing existing customer accounts.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing product knowledge, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through proactive communication and regular follow-up.
  • Prepare competitive quotes, track bids, and manage project opportunities from start to finish.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Present and promote products to prospective and existing clients.
  • Utilize warm leads and existing accounts to expand business relationships.
  • Travel throughout Iowa to meet with customers and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher preferred, or equivalent professional sales experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably within distribution, construction, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, the construction process, or commercial building products preferred.
  • Experience working with architects, general contractors, and subcontractors is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience selling products rather than services.
  • Strong desire to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Ability to quickly learn a diverse product portfolio.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and growing customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new technology.
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional customer service.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for handling materials and office equipment.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations throughout Iowa.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with occasional visits to customer job sites and project locations.
