Position: General Maintenance Mechanic (Fleet Maintenance)

Compensation: $22.00+/hour (Based on Experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | Day Shift
Overtime: May be required based on fleet maintenance needs

Position Overview:

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of a fleet of service trucks, tractor trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other engine-driven equipment. This is a hands-on position focused on preventative maintenance, inspections, and light-to-medium mechanical repairs. Major engine rebuilds and equipment overhauls are outsourced to specialized vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

-Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet equipment.
-Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete general repairs.
-Replace brakes, batteries, belts, hoses, filters, and other service components.
-Inspect trucks, trailers, forklifts, and equipment to ensure safe operation.
-Coordinate major repairs with outside vendors when necessary.
-Maintain accurate maintenance schedules and service records.
-Help minimize equipment downtime and maximize fleet availability.
-Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards.

Qualifications:

-Experience in fleet maintenance, diesel mechanics, equipment maintenance, or heavy equipment repair preferred.
-Working knowledge of diesel and gas-powered equipment.
-Experience with commercial trucks, trailers, forklifts, or industrial equipment is a plus.
-High School Diploma or GED preferred.
-Technical or vocational mechanical training is beneficial but not required.
-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-Reliable, organized, and safety-conscious.

Physical Requirements:

-Ability to lift 5075 lbs.
-Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and crawling.
-Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in shop and yard environments.
-Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

Work Environment:

-Shop and outdoor yard setting.
-Exposure to heat, cold, dirt, grease, noise, and heavy equipment.
-Fast-paced environment focused on keeping equipment operational and available.

Requirements:

-Steel-toe boots required.
-Must be dependable and capable of working independently.
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
