Job Title: Line Cook

Location: North Kingstown, RI

Pay: $20 - $23 (DOE)

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring food quality, consistency, and timely service while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. The Line Cook reports directly to the Kitchen Manager or designated supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards

  • Set up and stock cooking stations with necessary supplies and ingredients

  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times

  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper portion sizes

  • Assist with food preparation, inventory, and restocking as needed

  • Properly store food and label products according to health regulations

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service

  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas at the end of each shift

  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred (but not required)

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and work in a hot kitchen environment

Work Environment

  • Commercial kitchen or food service environment

  • Exposure to heat, cooking equipment, and cleaning chemicals

  • PPE provided as required

  • Must maintain professional conduct and appearance while on duty
