About the Job

Spices USA is seeking an experienced QC Manager to lead the Quality Control and Quality Assurance department. This is a direct hire opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong food safety, regulatory compliance, and team management experience.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

• Oversee all QC operations including testing, documentation, reporting, and compliance
• Train and develop team members on quality standards and procedures

FSVP & Supplier Compliance

• Manage Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP)
• Ensure vendor compliance and maintain accurate supplier documentation
• Evaluate supplier risk and manage annual compliance questionnaires

Product Quality & Investigations

• Investigate product claims, quality issues, and deviations
• Manage quarantine records and FDA hold processes (SAP system)

Shelf-Life & Inventory Control

• Track expiration dates and prepare monthly shelf-life reports
• Coordinate product disposition, extensions, and inventory movements

Certifications & Documentation

• Maintain Kosher, Organic, USDA, FDA, COA, and Phytosanitary certifications
• Ensure all documentation is updated, accurate, and audit-ready

Food Safety & Compliance

• Lead SQF implementation and maintain GMP/Food Safety programs
• Support internal audits, mock recalls, and corrective actions
• Oversee lab testing, swabbing programs, and food fraud prevention

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with production, logistics, and purchasing teams
• Lead weekly quality meetings and maintain documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field (required)
• Experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance leadership
• Strong knowledge of FSVP, GMP, SQF, and FDA regulations
• SAP experience preferred
• Experience managing audits and inspections
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish required)
