Position Summary

Our client is looking for a Shop Technician Level 1. The Shop Technician is responsible for assisting with the inspection, maintenance, and basic repair of rental equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and readiness for customer use. This entry-level role supports senior technicians while developing mechanical skills and knowledge of equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and inspections on rental equipment (i.e., generators, pumps, HVAC, tools, or construction equipment)
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Clean, service, and prepare equipment for customer delivery and return
• Complete preventative maintenance checks (PMs) following company standards
• Maintain accurate service records and inspection reports
• Ensure equipment meets safety and quality standards
• Keep shop and work areas clean, organized, and compliant
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Assist with loading/unloading equipment as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 0–2 years of mechanical or technical experience preferred
• Knowledge of tools, small engines, or equipment repair
• Willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Standing, bending, crawling, and working in shop/outdoor environments

Preferred (Not Required)

• Trade school or technical certification
• Experience with construction or industrial equipment
• Valid driver’s license
