Position Overview

Our manufacturing client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join their team. This role will support core accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and assist in maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Monitor and analyze inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and collaborate with operations to resolve variances
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses for leadership
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Industry-Specific Duties

• Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead
• Maintain standard costing and assist with cost updates
• Evaluate production variances and provide insights to operations teams
• Partner with production and supply chain teams to improve cost controls

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Accounting Edge software preferred

Preferred:

• Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
• CPA or progress toward certification (a plus)
• Familiarity with inventory management systems
