Part-Time Community Kitchen Cook

Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Approximately 27 hours per week

We're seeking two dependable, community-minded Cooks to join our team. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys preparing meals in a supportive, low-stress environment while helping serve the local community.

What You'll Do

• Prepare large-batch meals in a commercial kitchen.

• Support and work alongside volunteers during meal preparation and service.

• Help keep the kitchen clean, organized, and operating efficiently.

• Delegate tasks to volunteers when appropriate.

• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 months of commercial cooking experience.

• Experience preparing meals in large quantities (healthcare, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, schools, churches, cafeterias, or similar environments is preferred).

• Friendly, customer service-oriented attitude.

• Comfortable guiding volunteers and assigning tasks when needed.

• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.

• Current Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card (or ability to obtain before starting).

• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Schedule

• Approximately 27 hours per week.

• Four 6.5-hour shifts per week (30-minute unpaid lunch).

• Shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 5:15 PM.

• Weekend availability required.

• Three days off each week.

• Additional shifts may be available.

Requirements

• Non-slip shoes required.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a commercial kitchen environment.
