Financial Analyst (2-Month Contract)

Salary: Up to $75,000 annually (pro-rated for contract term)

 

About the Opportunity

Our client, a global leader in the medical technology and precision optics industry, is seeking a Financial Analyst for a 2-month contract assignment. This role will support the Finance team with month-end close activities, operating expense analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong FP&A and accounting experience who can quickly contribute in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for month-end closing activities
• Assist with month-end reporting and financial analysis
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team and provide expense coding guidance as required

Financial Analysis & Performance Monitoring

• Analyze financial information and operating expenses to support business decision-making
• Monitor and forecast operating expenses across various departments
• Conduct variance analysis and identify key drivers impacting financial performance
• Evaluate financial data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
• Assist in assessing business opportunities through financial modeling and analysis

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting activities
• Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for management
• Participate in regular business reviews and provide financial insights to supported functional areas
• Present financial overviews and communicate performance against budget and forecast

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
• Minimum 2–3 years of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience preferred
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close processes
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
