About the Opportunity
Our client, a family-owned and operated company in the vehicle transportation and logistics industry, is seeking a Financial Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, small-business environment where they can make a meaningful impact on day-to-day financial operations.
This position works closely with the Financial Controller and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cash flow management, and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting and administrative functions.
Please note: This is a full-time, in-office position. There is no work-from-home option or flexible schedule. The company is seeking an individual interested in a long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Administration
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately and efficiently
- Support the Financial Controller with cash flow management and financial reporting activities
- Manage invoicing and monitor open orders
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate payment records
- Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Perform GST/HST reconciliations
- Assist with order closing procedures and financial documentation
- Work closely with carriers and customers to collect required paperwork and supporting documents
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records
Payroll & Administrative Support
- Assist with driver payroll processing
- Conduct order checks and confirmations
- Answer incoming calls and assist customers with inquiries
- Provide general office and administrative support
- Support managers and team members with additional tasks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, accounting, or a related finance role
- Strong understanding of account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping
- Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with accounting software
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to support a variety of business functions
