DIRECT HIRE Opportunity for Payroll Specialist

 

Our client, a well-established construction company located in North York is currently looking for a Direct Hire, Permanent Payroll Specialist to join their team!

Job Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for up to 250 hourly employees
• Perform and coordinate all year-end requirements and reconciliations including T4, WSIB, etc.
• Investigate and follow up on any payroll discrepancies
• Familiarity with Unions and application of bargaining unit rules in payroll
• Calculate special adjustments, vacation payments, commissions and off cycle pays
• Produce a labour report daily based on company standards.
• Accurate and timely preparation and distribution of Records of Employment
• Other general duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience working with a full-cycled payroll, ideally in a unionized environment
• PCP designation is a huge asset
• Strong knowledge of payroll practices and procedures
• Strong knowledge of Jonas software
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skill
• Highly organized and detail oriented

• Proficient computer skills (Word and Excel)

• Stable work history with a track record of handling the accounting function independently, with initiative and accountability

 

This is an excellent full-time opportunity located in Toronto and the hours are from 8AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday.
